We have been established as a company since 1898 and have 11 shops around the UK. We have a dedicated UK Sales Mail Order Department that is situated in purpose built offices located within our 5000 sq. foot Warehouse.

We are also regarded as the leading supplier of Music Technology to Educational Establishments throughout the UK and produce a twice-yearly, full colour Education catalogue that is available free of charge to any Bona Fide Educationalist. Please call us on 08450 949022 for a copy.

Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Solo, Maestro, Amex, Diners & Delta. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet separately if you wish. We have recently introduced Paypal as a payment option. Simply proceed with your order normally and you will be offered this payment option in the checkout stage. All orders are processed through Sagepay (formerly Protx) using 128 bit SSL encryption for your safety.

If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

When you place an order to purchase a product from dawsons.co.uk, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. However, we do have the right to terminate the contract in the event that the goods are unavailable, mis-priced or cleared funds are not received. Dawsons takes payment immediately by authorising and settling all transactions as soon as the customer's address has been verified by their issuing bank. If a product is not available to dispatch at the time of the order, the payment taken will be regarded as a prepayment. This is for our security as well as yours. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Shipping And Handling
The majority of our orders are shipped by TNT. We charge just £9.99 for most deliveries within the UK mainland, and this also includes Free Insurance UP TO £1000. (For certain small, light items you will find a £3.50 Recorded Delivery option available at the checkout area). If you live outside this area or have any questions then please e-mail us or call us prior to placing your order. We can give you an accurate quotation for carriage by return email.

On certain large, heavy items we reserve the right to charge you additional amounts but we will inform you of this prior to despatch to give you the option to cancel. Delivery is by Carrier or Royal Mail Record Delivery and must be signed for by yourself. If you wish an order to be signed for by a neighbour then please let us know on the relevant section on the order form.

Based on feedback from our customers we now offer an option to request delivery to an alternative address. However we will make several checks before the decision is actually made to send the goods to this nominated alternative address. We do reserve the right to not deliver to this alternative address under certain circumstances, but we will contact you by email, should we reach this decision.

Important Information for overseas customers

All orders are fully insured against loss or damage whilst in transit.
Any damage must be reported within 48 hours of receiving your order.
All our advertised prices include VAT at 17.5%.
All electrical products purchased from Dawsons Music will be designed to work on UK voltage &, where appropriate, will come with a 3 pin, UK style mains lead.
Please note that whilst we offer a 12 month warranty on all goods shipped to the EU, we do not cover the cost of returning the goods to the store. This is down to the customer to organise & pay for. If you have a faulty product & need to return it to Dawsons, please contact us.
Delivery Schedule
We will normally send your order to you in 2 business days.

Please make sure you sign for yours goods as 'unchecked'. You must inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free. Please note that all website prices INCLUDE VAT.
Credit Card Security
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee
All New & Ex-Demo goods are supplied with a full 12 months Warranty from us. In addition, certain manufacturers also offer additional extended warranties. All 2nd Hand goods are covered by a 3 month Warranty.

Returns Policy
Please note that this is our online refund policy. Please refer directly to our stores for our in-store policy. They will be happy to show it to you.

For Online Purchases your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, simply return it in its original condition within 15 days, we'll gladly exchange it, offer you a different product of equal value, or give you a full refund. Refunds are made within 30 days.

If within the first 2 months of your new purchase, the product should fail for any reason, we will replace it with a brand new one, carriage paid! Ex-Demo equipment and 2nd hand equipment is not covered by this policy.

In the case of goods that fail after 2 months or ex-demo & 2nd Hand goods that fail within the warranty period we ask that you return the goods to us by an insured method. We will repair them free of charge and return them to you by an insured delivery method. Before returning any equipment you must contact our Sales Office on 01925 582425 for a Returns Number.

All New & Ex-Demo goods are supplied with a full 12 months Warranty from us. In addition, certain manufacturers also offer additional extended warranties. All 2nd Hand goods are covered by a 3 month Warranty.
