Extended Description of the Boss Micro-BR Digital Recorder
BR in Pocket
The Boss Micro-BR is so small you can put it in your pocket! It measures just 136.0mm x 81.0 mm x 21.4 mm (5-3/8" x3-3/16" x 7/8"). But even though it's a shrimp, the Micro-BR packs an entire studio worth of features into its tiny case. There are a dozen buttons on its front panel, nine knobs, and even a built-in microphone for quick capture.
Four Tracks & More
At its core, the Boss Micro BR is a four-track studio with four simultaneous playback tracks and two simultaneous record / input tracks. However, there’s more to this recorder than meets the eye. Each of the four main playback tracks also has eight companion V-Tracks (for a total of 32), so you can record take after take after take, then pick your best material for final mixdown.
Drum Machine & Effects Onboard
Given the Boss Micro BR's small size and low price, you might be surprisedto find the next two features onboard: (1) Almost 300 drum patterns are included.Use them for play-along inspiration or even as song foundations. The rhythms don’t consume any of the four playback tracks — they play back independently leaving your tracks free for vocals and guitar. (2) A quality multi-effects processor is built into the Micro BR for enhancing your recordings and for creative experimentation. Amp modeling, compressor, delay... they're all here. And if you want to change the tempo of your MP3 audio without changing pitch (great for phrase training), you can apply the MicroBR's Time Stretch effect to MP3 or WAV file playback. In addition, Micro BR's Center Cancel feature can be applied to MP3/ WAV file playback, which helps minimize the vocal or lead-guitar track on pre-recorded songs for play-along style practice or performance.
Tune-in and Drop Out
The Boss MicroBR also includes a no-nonsence guitar tuner, cutting down on the amount of extra gear you have to carry with you. Press the tuner button, nail your note and you're off.
SD Recording
There are no moving parts inside the Boss Micro-BR. It’s a road-tough, memory-card-based digital recorder. The recording media of choice is the internationally recognized SD (Secure Digital) Card, which can be easily found in electronics shops that sell digital cameras. One tiny SD Card can store your sessions. The included 128MB card, for example, can record approximately 65 minutes of audio with with one mono track selected.
