The Akai MPC Element the most affordable MPC model ever. The Akai MPC family is legendary in all genres of dance music, and particularly in hip-hop. Providing intuitive workflow, with great feel and expressiveness, they quickly established themselves as the tool of choice for those who like to work with samples and loops.
Akai expanded this with ‘hybrid’ MPCs, which combined hardware and software, to expand their flexibility by using the additional power that a host computer allows. The MPC Element is the most affordable in this new range.
It provides 16 backlit, touch and pressure sensitive trigger pads, in an ultra slim USB design with a slick, brushed aluminium front panel. Any users of previous MPC incarnations will be more than aware of the great feel and durability of MPC pads, with the Akai MPC Element no expection to that rule. With classic MPC features such as note repeat, 16 level, and full level pad settings, and even MIDI connectivity via 1/8” breakout jacks, this tiny controller packs a big punch.
Free accompanying software
The MPC Element is designed for use with the freely downloadable MPC Essentials software. This delivers the functionality of an MPC sample workstation, allowing the user to construct beats, and even complete songs from samples and loops. A Gigabyte of sample data is included, and the software is compatible with standard WAV and AIFF audio files. Four effects are available per pad, adding further to its sonic power.
The software is Mac and PC compatible, and will run standalone or as a VST, AU or RTAS plugin within a host DAW package.
