The Akai MPC Fly Controller arms you up with 16 velocity-sensitive, backlit MPC pads set out in a familiar 4x4 grid for drum and sample triggering, along with MPC Note Repeat and MPC Swing.
The Akai MPC Fly Controller has a compartment for the iPad 2 to reside and comes with the MPC App. This app gives you four tracks of simultaneous sequencing and a library of samples and drum kits. In addition there are a number of effects: delay, bit crusher and master compressor/limiter.
Expanding the creative potential of the Akai MPC Fly Controller even further you can add your own samples through the iPad's mic or 3.5mm socket.
Portability
Saying the Akai MPC Fly Controller is portable is an understatement. Powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, the unit weights-in at just under a kilo (0.92kg). What’s more when it is plugged in your iPad 2 will be charged.
Attached to your iPad 2 the Akai MPC Fly Controller actually acts as a case to protect both the controller and iPad when you’re on the move. With it’s double-hinged design it is also multi-functional as you can position the iPad 2 to be upright (similar to a laptop) or you can open it out to have both units flush with the desk.
