Simple but professional, the Akai MPX8 Sample Pad is a sample player with pre-loaded sounds and an SD slot for loading in your own. A compact form factor and enough on-board editing options to keep anyone happy, the MPX8 is perfect for live performance, radio, DJs and a lot more.
Akai have been very clever with this unit, stripping things back to basics and providing the core functionality that you'll actually use, rather than dressing it up with tons of features. If you need a sample or loop player for playing with your band then look no further; if you're a live DJ and want to add some drums, drops or effects on top of your tracks the Akai MPX8 is perfect; and if you DJ on radio this is perfect for triggering all types of sound FX and jingles after you've loaded them in using the SD card slot.
Although wonderfully basic, the Akai MPX8 does have plenty of on-board control. Reverb can be added and tuning of each sample can be edited with ease, and did we mention the unit can be used as a MIDI controller via USB or standard MIDI ports (when using an appropriate adaptor). There's plenty of fun and experimentation to be had with the Akai MPX8 Sample Pad.
