The Guitar lessons use the Rockschool series of exam and syllabus, while allowing the teacher to use their expertise to introduce other methods of learning. Lessons have a well-rounded form, making time to work on modern songs, classic songs, improvising, theory, reading, rhythms and even aural practise. The students work in groups of 6 – 8, allowing them great experience of playing music alongside other people, taking it in turn to improvise. The students normally work towards doing a grade from the Rockschool series, and will get to showcase their work at performances throughout the year. Both of these work as great incentives to learning. Guitar lessons in Altrincham are £11.00 for an hour for group lessons and £15.00 per 30 minutes for a 1:1 lesson. This is payable in a 10-weekly instalments on the first lesson of each block. The only additional cost is the Rockschool examination books which range from £13.99 – £15.99 and can be purchased from either the teacher or at Dawsons Music shops.

Book Your Free Trial Guitar Lesson at Dawsons Altrincham
Submit your details above and someone will contact you within 2 working days to arrange your free trial guitar lesson.
Your free trial guitar lesson will last approximately 30-45 minutes and gives a taster of the course. We will also explain the cost of the lessons and advise of available lesson times.
Free Trial Lessons (FTL) are open to anyone (providing they are above the minimum age) so it really is NEVER too late to learn. All of our guitar teachers have adult classes and in some cases operate mixed age classes so we really do have something for everyone.
Where a prospective student has previous experience the guitar teacher may offer a free one-to-one consultation instead of a FTL, with a view to putting the student into an already existing guitar class.
Please note that free trial guitar lessons take place when there are enough students to fill a group, this may mean your details being kept on a waiting list until the next available FTL. Some of our music schools only offer lessons during term-time, where this is the case FTLs are held in term-time.
Free taster guitar lessons are available to those who are not already existing students of Dawsons Music School. A taster guitar lesson will be held by arrangement with the teacher providing the student is above the minimum age for the relevant course.

Hiyancan you tell me the minimum age for these lessons please? I have a 7 year old desperate to play. Thanks
Hi Julie
Thanks for your enquiry. Although the Altrincham school is now closed for the summer break, the guys at our store tell me that typically, 6 years old is about the minimum age for taking lessons. The school can be contacted on 0161 7621570, but over the summer they are probably better contacted via email (admin@ymsaltrincham.co.uk). I hope that this helps.
Thanks
Joe
