Get your hands on Ashdown amps at Dawsons Music now

Ashdown Amps seem to support the claim that, in the UK, we know a thing or two about guitar amp design. Set up by former Trace Elliot chief engineer, Mark Gooday in 1997, the brand has since become a ‘go to’ for bassists across the globe. Powerful, punchy tone, versatility, and good looks are all Ashdown staples. Ashdown amps are now regularly seen behind by some of the biggest names in bass (and guitar, for that matter). Pino Palladino, Andy Bell (ex Oasis), Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters), and James Johnston (Biffy Clyro)  join an army of other revered Ashdown players.

After recently becoming an Ashdown dealer, we are pleased to say that these wonderful amplifiers are starting to arrive in stock at our larger stores (Manchester, Liverpool and Reading). Here’s a brief overview of some of the treats that have arrived already…

Ashdown Amps MAG 300 Head

Ashdown MAG 300H EVO III head

The Ashdown MAG range was designed to offer the tone of the ABM range of amplifiers, without the more sophistic connection options, and at a more affordable price. The MAG 300H EVO III is an amp head, and features a 300-Watt power stage, with valve emulated drive, 5-band EQ and built-in compressor, built-in tuner/ line output and a DI output, too.

Ashdown Amps MAG-210T Cabinet

Ashdown MAG 210T Deep Cabinet

If you’ve got yourself one of the ‘head’ format Ashdown amps, you’ll be needing a tasty cabinet to plug it into, and what better than the MAG 210T Deep Cabinet. This 2 x 10 cabinet features twin Ashdown custom drivers, which deliver clear, punchy tone, with great attack, and thick, warm low-end. In addition, for some extra high frequency definition, the MAG 210T has a switch-able tweeter, which can be set to off, low or high. The cab is rated at 250-Watts at 8 Ohms. A solid build, with cloth grille, chrome corners and retro good looks make this a favourite for the gigging bassist.

Ashdown Amps Five Fifteen Combo

Ashdown Five Fifteen Combo

Named after the jaw dropping John Entwistle bass solo, from the Who track of the same name, the Five Fifteen is a practice amp, but with the DNA of classic Ashdown amps. Based around a single 15” Ashdown Blueline speaker, the Five Fifteen delivers 100 Watts of power, three band tone controls. A pre-shaped ‘Deep’ switch adds further to the tonal possibilities, whilst a CD/Line input provides a tool for practicing along to recorded tracks.

Ashdown Drive Plus Distortion Pedal
