“No Strings Attached!”
Whilst we, at Dawsons, strive to ensure that, when you are ready to buy a new instrument with your hard earned and harder saved cash, we have the best selection of high quality instruments for you to try, in many ways the smaller day-to-day items are just as, if not more important. For the guitarist, this means having an excellent selection of strings to choose from. With this in mind, our team at Warrington have been working with our friends at D’Addario Strings, and now have a huge, gleaming new wall of strings…
And to celebrate, on the approaching August bank holiday weekend, they’re having a party, sponsored by the generous guys at D’Addario. On Saturday 27th of August, there’s a ‘Busk-a-thon’ event, featuring performances from friends and guest musicians (hopefully outside, if weather permits…). The guys will be showcasing Farida, Redwood, Epiphone, Martin and Gibson acoustic guitars, and there will also be a chance to hear some mandolins and ukuleles in action. In addition, D’addario and Planet Waves promotions will run throughout the day.

Then, on Sunday 28th of August we have Matt Corlett’s Psychedelic Beach Open Mic/ Jam night at Porters Ale House (78 Buttermarket Street, Warrington WA1 2NN). According to Roy, “Beach wear and fancy dress is optional (although there will be prizes for the best – and worst). Matt will be playing Farida guitars and handing out occasional D’addario prizes (if we have any left by then….!)”.
