Dawsons Reading, one of the UK’s largest music stores is set for a dramatic store update…
It’s hard to believe that its nearly six years since Dawsons Reading first opened its doors at its Caversham Road site. For those who have never visited the store, it is big. In fact, it is huge. One journalist described it as being like an aircraft hangar, and it is packed with music related goodies.
We’re always looking for ways to improve things for our customers, and this year, our Reading store is set for a dramatic new facelift. The shop will remain open throughout the whole process, however, so there’s no need to panic about where you’ll get your strings from…

It all went black… (well, the walls did at least)
The process of making this happen began this week, and whilst I can’t say very much (I’ve been sworn to secrecy) I can say that there’s going to be some very big changes. The team at Dawsons Reading have sent some early shots of the store’s new guitar wall getting a new, darker appearance See the photos above). The guitar wall has always been a major ‘wow-factor’ at Reading, and now it’s in black, well it’s all just a bit sexier, don’t you think?

Believe me when I say, however, that this is the tip of the iceberg. Stay posted for updates! In case you missed it, or have forgotten- below is what the store looked like when we moved in, all those years ago… It started out as a very bare shell, before becoming the great store we know today. But the Dawsons Reading that you’ll see shortly- woo-hoo! Just wait until you see it! It gonna be huge, in every sense…
