Dawsons Manchester Drums Department Expands!

You’ll often hear drummer’s lamenting that in city centre Manchester drums are hard to come by. Well, in the Manchester area, at least. And it’s true, that of all of the major Rock ‘n’ Roll/ Contemporary instrumentalists, drummers have been the least well served. In response to this, one of the major changes our Manchester store has instigated is a big expansion of our drum and percussion department. Whilst the guys at Manchester have been steadily building the department over the last 18 months, this represents a major phase in its expansion.

Cymbals Galore!

Is there anything more attractive to a drummer than a huge wall of shiny cymbals? Possibly not… So, to indulge the Manchester Drummer’s magpie-like tendencies, our store now has a generous helping of the finest cymbals on offer from Zildjian and Sabian on display and available for you to try. These include the Sabian Chad Smith Holy China, and Jojo Mayer endorsed Sabian AAX Omni crash-rides. If you haven’t heard the Omnis before, I fully recommend giving them a listen. Unlike most crash-rides, these aren’t a compromise (i.e. an average crash and an average ride in one cymbal), and sound truly stunning both as a crash and a ride. In addition, the range now includes Zildjian K-Custom hybrids.

But, this isn’t a cymbal selection just for pros. With a Zildjian selection that goes from ZBT range cymbals to K-Custom cymbals, and a Sabian selection from the B8 range up to the Vault range, all bases are covered, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.

If you haven’t visited our Manchester drum department before, allow me to elaborate a little… Aside from the newly expanded cymbal area, Dawsons Manchester has the entire range of Roland V-Drums available to demo, with a selection of Yamaha DTX kits alongside. In terms of acoustic kits, a selection of tasty treats from Tama, Mapex and Yamaha are stocked, with beginners’ kits from Stagg and essentials also available. A selection of hardware and spares from the aforementioned companies is also kept, along with a rack of sticks from Vic Firth, Pro-Mark, Vater and Zildjian. Evans and Remo Drum heads are stocked, for that emergency, before the gig crisis, or a regular maintenance rehead, depending on how organised you are… And, if you’re looking to add a new snare drum to your collection, the guys at Manchester stock the entire Mapex Black Panther range.

A wide selection of Meinl hand, and ethnic percussion also features, from tambourines and cowbells, to Darbukas and Djembes (the selection of Cajons regularly in stock is a very popular feature).
