Dawsons Music Sponsor World Famous Erics Club, Liverpool
We’re always keen to help musicians in any way we can, and make ourselves a part of the local music scene, and it was with that in mind that Dawsons became sponsors of the legendary Erics Club in Liverpool.
For those who are unaware, Erics Club Liverpool was a world famous venue for punk and post-punk bands in the ’80s. Only a few steps away from the site of that other legendary Liverpool club, the Cavern, Erics Club was host to an embarrassment of groundbreaking bands in its early tenure, from The Stranglers, and Joy Division, to Elvis Costello and even U2. Looking to reinstate Erics Club position as a platform for ambitious and creative musicians, and recreate the magic that made it a world famous venue, it reopened, with a new refit (and without the infamous smell…) earlier this year. Opening with a rare performance by Liverpool’s OMD, the club has been going from strength to strength since.
To help Erics Club re-establish itself as the cornerstone of the Liverpool music scene, Dawsons Music became involved as sponsors. Supplying a range of backline equipment for those unable to transport it, for those bands in their early stages, who don’t have gear of this standard, or just for emergency replacements when a band’s equipment fails. This can prove to be crucial in the early stages of a band. In fact, legend has it that Liverpool legends, Echo & the Bunnymen, borrowed another bands equipment for their earliest gigs at Erics! Here at Dawsons, we’d love to think that we could help another legendary Liverpool band on their way to greatness in this way. The equipment includes a Fender Rumble 350 bass amp, a Yamaha Drumkit and a Marshall AS100D acoustic guitar amp.
Erics Club is a Liverpool landmark, and will continue to provide the best platform for new music and established acts. And as long as it does, Dawsons Music will be there to support it. Check this blog for Dawsons events at Erics Club Liverpool.
