ESP have released two new series of acoustics, the XTone D-5 and DC-5E range, aimed at the entry-level market (including LTD’s first ever purely acoustic (no preamp) model) and the Xtone Exotic Wood series which really stand out form the crowd.
ESP LTD Xtone D-5 and DC-5E
Starting with the D-5, the solely acoustic model, ESP LTD is trying to bring first time players right into the action with an affordable but classic dreadnought with a good quality spruce top and mahogany back and sides. In case you don’t know, these are classic woods for acoustic guitars and are praised by many players for providing solid and bright tone. A classic rosewood fingerboard rounds off this model’s features along with the three different finishes: Natural, Black and Two-Tone Burst. The DC-5E is a more advanced version of the D-5. A cutaway and ESP’s standard EQ and piezo pickup mean you can plug in and be heard by everyone!
ESP LTD Xtone Exotic Wood Series
You really have to see these guitars to understand how dramatic and outstanding they look. They’ll look perfect in any home, on any stage and in any situation you can imagine. Five different finishes have been released, some subtler than others but all of them look unique. A high quality B-Band electret film transducer pickup sends sound through the T-35 three-band EQ and out into an amp, a PA or anything else you’d like. Highlights of this range include the fine-looking EW-SM Spalted Maple top version and the EW-Z zebrawood model (probably the most striking in the range).
