The new Fender Cabronita Telecaster has landed, and boy, is it a beauty…
The Fender Cabronita Telecaster was once a guitar only within the financial reach of those who were ‘well-heeled’ to say the least. The original custom shop model (La Cabronita), and the Telebration guitar derived from it were both a bit, well, ‘spendy’. When a Cabronita was revealed that was under £500 (prices correct as of 10/8/2012), there was an immediate buzz of excitement.
For those who have been clamouring to get their hands on it ever since then, the wait is now over: The Fender Cabronita has landed. And, as you can see from the great shot supplied above taken at our Manchester store (many thanks to Trav at Manchester), it is a really (really) beautiful thing indeed…
It’s got a fiery temper…
The new Fender Cabronita Telecaster has the same aesthetic styling as its predecessors, the La Cabronita and the Telebration Cabronita. This is a very good thing. The uniquely shaped, single-ply pickguard provides some great, vintage-style eye-candy, whilst the pickups are a feast of chrome.

The pickups are the other distinctive feature of this guitar. Rather than the typical twin single coils, the Fender Cabronita Telecaster is equipped with two, vintage-tastic, Fidelitron pickups. These humbuckers have a tone that is far brighter than a typical humbucker- a tone that Fender describes as ‘Fiery’. Quite… A three-position blade allows the pickups to be selected individually or together, and control is via a single volume knob.
Available in three finishes, the black Fender Cabronita is priced at £455 (price correct as of 10/8/2012), with the blonde and sunburst finished version each priced at £492 (price correct as of 10/8/2012). Currently, we have the blonde and black versions in stock right now, with the 3-colour sunburst model due to arrive anytime soon.
