The guys at our Manchester store are huge fans of Fender guitars. In fact, you could go so far as to say they’re a little ‘nerdy’ about it (in a good way, of course). If you wander around the upper floor at Manchester, you may overhear conversations about when particular finishes first appeared, or the differences in saddle types in different eras of Stratocaster. These are guitars that they know and love.
However, the guys at Fender, understandably have lots of ‘insider’ knowledge, and are the first to get their hands on new gear, and spend time getting to know it intimately. In short, if you were interested in a Fender guitar, you’d be hard pushed to find better people to ask. At Dawsons Manchester on Saturday (30th June), you’ll be able to do just that, with three of Fender’s experts in-store, and at your disposal…
Wealth of knowledge about Fender Guitars
The folk at Fender Guitars will be sending three of its incredibly experienced and knowledgeable specialists to spend the day in store at Manchester. UK Product Specialist, Damon Chivers will be in attendance. If you’ve ever seen any of the demo videos on the Fender UK Youtube channel, you will, no doubt be aware of Damon’s considerable talents.
Having been a guitarist for 30 years (with performances at Glastonbury, T in the park and many other festivals, alongside radio and TV work including performances on BBC1 and Channel 4) and a product specialist for Fender for 9 years, there are few people in the UK better placed to advise you about Fender guitars than Damon.
Dan Price, who will also be in attendance, has been involved in the music all of his professional life. Dan is one of the sales managers for Fender UK, and is the first port of call for our stores and purchasing department for any queries about Fender gear.
A man who says that he has ‘more guitars and amps than his family actually know about’ (I apologise if I’ve just ‘let the cat out of the bag’…), Dan has been passionate about music all of his life. Having worked in retail guitar shops, and also for a record company before working for Fender, Dan is the man with his finger on the pulse regarding Fenders product lines, and a huge knowledge of previous models to boot.
Finally, the service manager for Fender Guitars in the UK, Matt Davey will also be in-store. Matt is also a gigging musician with a huge passion for guitars and Fender. His day-to-day role at Fender involves servicing and maintenance of Fender gear, so should you have any queries about a particular piece of gear, Matt knows the entire family of Fender products inside out (literally).
