The Line 6 XD-V35 digital wireless microphones – cutting edge wireless technology at affordable prices
The Line 6 XD-V35 microphones are latest digital wireless microphone systems to be announced by Line 6. Unlike typical radio wireless systems, these use digital technology to transmit the audio signal without any interference. The XD-V35 mics are the updates to the previous XD-V30 range featuring Line 6 ‘s fourth generation wireless technology, and at the lowest price yet.
High quality uncompressed audio signal
The Line 6 XD-V35 range features a standard handheld vocal microphone, and a presenter style lavalier microphone. The digital wireless system employed by the mics has several major advantages over a typical radio system. When transmitting audio via a radio signal, it is necessary to compress the signal before it is transmitted to the receiver. This reduces the dynamic range of the performance. As the XD-V35 microphones are transmitting digital audio data (24-bit audio data, no less), it has no need to do this. As a result, the mics have a dynamic range of up to 118dB, preserving your performance or speech in accurate detail.
The Line 6 XD-V35 systems also feature Digital Channel Lock technology (DCL), which neatly bypasses the other major issue with radio-based wireless systems: interference. DCL encodes the signal so that it can only be received by the unit’s receiver box, removing the possibility of interference. It also bypasses the issues posed by the impending re-allocation of frequencies used by many radio microphones by Ofcom (due to happen this year), transmitting in the 2.4GHz ISM band instead.
Range of up to 275 feet
Unlike analogue wireless systems, the Line 6 XD-V35 is not susceptible to dropouts in the same way. It retains the quality of its signal right up to the end of its range, quoted at an impressive 275 feet. Should you wish to use several XD-V35 systems in the same environment, there is no need to buy mics with differing frequencies. Each can be switched to operate on one of six different channels. Setting this up is as easy switching the channel on the receiver- the mic automatically locks to it.
The XD-V35 handheld also employs Line 6 ‘s digital mic modelling technology, with its sonic character modelled on the legendary Shure SM58 microphone.
