Native Instruments Maschine quickly established itself as the beat-makers tool of choice when it was launched a few years ago. The first product of its type, it was effectively a ‘hybrid’, fusing a cutting edge sample manipulation, pattern sequencing software package with a controller designed specifically for it. This could be integrated into the DAW of your choice or run as a standalone software package. More powerful and intuitive than anything else of its kind, Maschine is beloved by producers in all genres (but particularly those who love to program beats…)
Some time later, Maschine Mikro appeared, offering all of Maschine ‘s software functionality with a slightly scaled down controller. Its position at the top of the beat-making podium was cemented.

Maschine reduced by over £100!
Yes, the Native Instruments Maschine range is massively reduced for a limited period. For those unfamiliar with the two packages in the range, let’s start with the ‘all the bells and whistles’ version. Maschine provides 16 velocity sensitive pads with aftertouch, 41 assignable buttons, and 11 rotary controls. Two backlit displays provide parameter information, and even waveform displays, such the controller feels like a standalone piece of hardware when in use. The price (correct as of 2/7/2012- though as stated, this is a limited offer) is now £329- over £100 cheaper than it’s previous price.
The Native Instruments Maschine Mikro provides a controller with a much smaller footprint. The same sixteen pads feature, but the assignable buttons are reduced to 28 in number, with a single assignable rotary control. In addition, the Mikro has a single display, and some of the direct automation control is lost (thought it can be implemented through host DAW software). This package is aimed primarily at those who wish to integrate it within a DAW package. The Mikro is now priced at a very tempting £199 (correct as of 2/7/2012, and for then period of this limited time offer)
Both packages include full Maschine software, complete with a 6GB sample library.
