The Pioneer CDJ-350 DJ Deck offers incredible flexibility
The Pioneer CDJ-350 DJ Deck is billed by the legendary DJ equipment brand as ‘entry level’, but a glance at the features list puts paid to any idea that this may equate to under-equipped. The CDJ product line has become something of an industry standard. So much so, in-fact, that the some use the term to refer any CD based DJ deck. Whilst the CDJ-350 is at heart a CD based unit, it offers a huge list of additional functionality.

Play CDs, Data CDs, WAVs, MP3s and stream from USB
The Pioneer CDJ-350 maintains the classic design of previous CDJ models. The main control equipped on the unit’s top panel is a 109mm touch sensitive platter. To the left of this there is a large cue control button and play/pause button, with a pitch control (for those crucial tempo adjustments) to the right. Further controls include hot loops, BPM lock, plus all the usual track search/ select buttons. Unlike many CD decks described as ‘entry level’, the CDJ-350 does more than just play audio CDs. It will also play CDRs of audio files, accepting WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC files. For those for whom CDs are just too bulky, the CDJ-350 also features a USB socket so that audio can be streamed from USB memory devices.

USB MIDI Control
It can be seen already, that the CDJ-350 is an incredibly flexible DJ deck. It still has more to give, however. Remarkably, it can also be used as a DJ controller for a wide range of DJ software packages. In addition, it also operates as an audio interface, if required. The Pioneer CDJ-350 then, offers just about every possible way of DJing with digital media.
To add even more functionality, the Rekordbox music management software included with the CDJ-350 analyses BPM of tracks within your library, and prepares them ready for playback, and allows easy transfer of songs and playlists to USB storage devices. This cataloguing means that tracks can be easily selected using artist, genre and more to filter. For those who prefer a more ‘in-the-box’ approach, the CDJ-350 can create playlists on the unit itself.
Here are the Pioneer CDJ-350 ‘s key features:
- Play audio CDs or data CDs
- Stream audio files from USB memory sticks
- Play WAV, AIFF, MP3 and AAC files
- Operates as MIDI DJ controller and audio interface
- Touch sensitive platter for cuing, with scratch control
- Compatible with Rekordbox music management software (included)
- Create playlists on the unit itself

Hi
It’s difficult to say what might be causing this. The first thing I would try is updating the firmware. A download for this can be found here http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/support/software/CDJ-350/index.html. If you have no joy with this, I’d give Pioneer ‘s service department a call- they will be able to help. The number is 0870 600 1539.
Hope this helps,
Joe
