Young Pianist, Heather, Performs Her Charity Single In-store on the V-Piano Grand!
A young songwriter and pianist from Reading is already attracting a huge amount of attention from the music industry, despite the fact that she is just 13 years old! Heather, whose delicate, intricate pianowork, and vocal style is reminiscent of a young Tori Amos, entered national talent competition, OpenMic UK, and is now just one step away from the UK final at the O2 arena! And, if that wasn’t enough for a girl of her tender years, she has just released a charity single, ‘Frontline’, raising money for Help for Heroes. It was a performance of this song, complete with sign language interpreter, that won her a place in the southern final of Open Mic UK.

Live Performance in our Reading Store, on the Roland V-Piano Grand
And, to help promote ‘Frontline’, celebrate her success in the OpenMic UK contest, and show off the incredible Roland V-Piano Grand, Heather will be performaing in our Reading store on Saturday at 11am. Heather is an exceptionally talented young lady, and this is great opportunity to see here whilst you still do so for free, as that’s surely not going to be the case for long…
The Roland V-Piano Grand, on which she will be playing, is the cutting edge of digital piano technology. Using mathematical models, it calculates the effect of every single component of a piano mechanism, and recreates the results. This allows the player to change the piano sound in ways not previously possible. For example, by making hammer felts harder, a brighter attack can be achieved, or even piano strings can be changed to alter tone. As the V-Piano Grand does not employ samples, as other digital pianos doe, it does not suffer from the problems associated with sample looping and ‘stepping’ (see this blog article for more information). And, to answer any questions you may have about any of the pianos, Dawsons Piano Expert, Dave Thomas, will be in-store all day.
So, if you would like to see one of the UK’s freshest young talents, playing the World’s most advanced digital piano, visit Dawsons Reading on Saturday 19th November, 11am. Heather’s website, www.misschief.info, contains more information about forthcoming performances, plus recordings and more, but in the meantime here’s Heather with ‘Frontline’. All proceeds from this single go to Help for Heroes.
