Easy to use, powerful when mastered
Unlike much of the music software that is available, Steinberg Sequel 3 is designed to be a very ‘immediate’, creating an interface that doesn’t hinder the flow of ideas. But, unlike computer music software of this type, unlike, and at this price-point, it contains a very comprehensive and professional toolset. With Virtual instruments for sound creation, such as Groove Agent One and beat designer, Halion Sonic SE (containing over 500 sounds) and Amp Rack, guitar amp-simulation, Sequel 3 is capable of creating just about any sound you’d like to use. In terms of recording, the package has high quality time stretching and pitch shifting (allowing you to manipulate tempo and pitch of recorded audio easily and at the highest quality).
This version of Sequel also features 24 live Performance Pads, allowing samples, sequences or whole songs to be assigned and triggered live. And, if you find that the included sounds and instruments are not what you need, full VST plug in compatibility is now included as standard, enabling the package to be expanded via thousands of third party VST instruments that are available, including a wide variety of shareware and freeware plug-ins.
Whilst Cubase is Steinberg ‘s most renowned computer music software for PC and Mac, Sequel is establishing itself very quickly as a powerful and inexpensive means of music creation.
