Video Content Specialist

ROLE: Videographer
REPORTS TO: Head of Ecommerce

Job Purpose

Deliver compelling and high quality video content to be used across the Dawsons channels

Job Responsibilities

  • Produce and present product led videos to promote and demonstrate musical instruments and recording equipment
  • Produce and deliver product reviews, demonstrations and tutorials (in a direct to camera setting)
  • Develop scripts and engaging walk-thrus to promote the benefits and features of each product
  • Work with the Web and Buying department to establish the weekly production schedule (to cover the sourcing of products and supplier/store liaison)
  • Carry out video editing, post-production work and publishing of video content
  • Ensure that videos are produced within agreed timeframes and format
  • Work with the Web team to optimally utilise video content across the various output channels
  • Assist with social media activity to ensure maximum exposure for video content
  • Source props/backdrops etc as and when required
  • Be aware of Web dept targets & results, and be an active member of the web team with regard to helping to deliver the Web budget
  • Work in close co-operation with all areas of the business, including Marketing, Retail, IT and Buying
  • Travel to various locations (stores, suppliers, industry shows etc), which may include International travel

Key Skills

  • Highly proficient product expert
  • Strong musical background with expert level competency with at least one musical instrument
  • Ability to produce, direct and edit small-scale video productions
  • Comfortable being in front of the camera to deliver product reviews, demonstrations and tutorials
  • Empathy with the target audience and understanding of the latest developments
  • Focussed attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent communication skills


  • Demonstrable professional experience in video production and editing
