Boss, the slightly more guitar oriented subsidiary to the Roland musical instrument corporation, was established in 1976, with the launch of a clip-on guitar preamp. However, it was the launch of its first compact pedal (Boss’s familiar guitar effects pedal) in 1977 that truly established the brand as a force within the guitar world. Boss compact pedals are now ubiquitous, and have found themselves at the feet of some of the World’s greatest guitarists.
