One box to connect them all. That sentence sums up the Akai EIE Audio Interface quite succinctly. Just about every input/output you could need to connect just about any instrument or audio equipment is available with this interface, for 16-bit recording with 2-channels, support for 44.1kHz sample rate and USB plug-and-play.

Professional and portable the Akai EIE I/O USB Audio Interface uses high-quality components, such as nickel-plated input jacks, a robust aluminium casing and analog-style VU meters.

Inputs/Outputs

The Akai EIE Audio Interface features four XLR-¼” combo jacks each with their own gain control, Mic/Line/Guitar switch and 48V phantom power switch, giving you connectivity for almost any microphone. Individual ¼” nickel-plated jack inserts allow you to process audio signals externally.

There are also a number of ways to monitor with the Akai EIE 16-bit Electromusic Interface Expander. Both channels can be monitored by two separate monitoring systems with the four ¼” balanced outputs or you can monitor the channels visually with the classically styled analog VU meters. A 1/4” TRS headphone output allows for remote tracking and alternative playback.

Using high-quality converters the Akai EIE USB Audio Interface sends/receives four audio channels via a single USB cable to connect to a Mac or PC (without the need for drivers) and ensure functionality with virtually any music software program, like GarageBand or Pro Tools, on Mac OS X and Windows XP, Vista and 7 operating systems.

In addition to the main USB, the Akai EIE Audio Interface has an additional three USB inputs that act as a hub for controllers, hard drives and other computer peripherals.

Traditional MIDI In and Outs jacks are also part of the Akai EIE Audio Interface’s make up, for MIDI-compatible instruments, workstations and keyboard/pad controllers.
