Roland TD-30 Drum Sound Module

The Roland TD-30 Drum Sound Module introduces Roland's flagship SuperNatural sound engine (as seen on top-end digital pianos and synths) to their flagship electronic drum brain. This monumental percussion module actually detects when you play rolls, flams, rim shots, snare ghost notes, epic crash hits and sustained cymbal swells with landmark accuracy, offering a level of sensitivity that is akin to performing on an acoustic kit, but with the sounds of top studio recorded kits, electronic drums sounds and loads of percussion too. To add depth to the sound there is a dedicated ambience fader, that simulates the spatial sound of overhead microphones to give a more natural sounding signal.

There are over 1,000 sounds on-board the Roland TD-30, arranged into preset kits for all styles, designed to cater for both live and studio situations. On-board effects and V-Edit controls let you create custom kits for any specific application/requirements you have.

The trigger response, dynamics, and positional sensing have all been improved to a major extent. The TD30 Drum Sound Module lifts Roland V-Pro level kits to new realms of expression, which is quite a feat as the flagship V-Drums kits were already the world leaders in electronic drum performance, and this development is sure to secure Roland's position into the future. The snare now has smoother transition in reaction between head and rim shots. The crash cymbal responds more dynamically to delicate hits, swell rolls and powerwful crash hits. The ride features increased dynamic sensitivity and more accurate position detection. Every drum responds more smoothly to fast open rolls, flams, ghost notes and single handed buzz rolls, giving a continuous sound in between each hit. All elements of advanced hi-hat control have been improved with the V Hi-Hat responding to subtle and complex work using the foot pedal and sticks, keeping continous open sounds and sizzles when the hats are slightly open, and easier to control foot splashes.

The ambience controls go to extreme measures to give this the Roland TD-30 Drum Sound Module a natural sound in all situations. There is control of the Overhead Mic, Room Mic (you can choose room size, and mic placement) and also Reverb to blend the drum sounds for added smoothness, so you really have control of whatever sound you are going for whether it be a tight studio sound or a massive concert hall!
