The Electro Harmonix Q-Tron guitar effects pedal allows you to add a dreamy envelope filter effect to your guitar or bass signal, bringing a solid level of funk to your tone.
There are six controls at your fingertips, each one performing their task with ease. The Mode select knob allows you to target the low, mid and hi frequency ranges, whilst the mix option mixes in the dry signal with the Sweep. The rotary Sweep switch allows you to select the direction of the sweep across the signal path. The Range control has two selectable positions of hi and lo, giving you the option to target overtones or vowel sounds respectively. The Peak control allows you to control the resonance peak of the filter, controlling the amount of effect thrown into the mix. The Gain and Boost controls allow you to control the overall level of the signal, from gently lifting the sound of the effect to whacking it right up in the mix.
The unit has been designed for ease of use so that you can quickly make adjustments. However, under the surface lies incredibly sophisticated circuitry that can perform real-time operations effortlessly, e.g. reacting to your playing style and adjusting the filter accordingly; so the harder you hit the strings, the wider the filter opens.
The Q-Tron is incredibly powerful and you can create some super-slick and funky tones. Being the favourite pedal of none other than the legend himself Bootsy Collins, the Q-Tron send you to psychedelic heaven.
As you would expect from Electro Harmonix, the pedal is an absolute tank and built to last until the end of time. The all-metal construction is a touring musician’s dream. No matter what you throw at the Q-Tron, or how abusive you are to the knobs, it can take it day and night, never once letting you down!
