The Epiphone Les Paul Special II may have an incredibly affordable price tag, but do not be fooled, it features all the customary appointments normally associated with much more expensive models, and still delivers that classic Les Paul 'feel' and 'tone'.
As well all know, that classic Les Paul tone starts with the body. Epiphone have carefully crafted the Les Paul Special II from a solid piece of mahogany, giving it a substantial and satisfying punch. As you'd expect the body takes on the classic Les Paul shape, offering a reassuringly confident feel against your body whilst you're rocking out.
Attached to the body is a rugged and reliable mahogany neck, fitted with a gorgeous rosewood fingerboard - home to 22 highly playable frets. The mahogany/rosewood combo ensures that sustain is maximised whilst note articulation is smoothly delivered across each and every fret.
The Les Paul Special II is fitted with Alnico 650R and 700T humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions respectively. Whether you're a: chicken picker, flat picker, sweeper, shredder, tapper or strummer, this perfectly matched pair of beauties will ensure that the sound you're looking for can be achieved with minimal effort, allowing you to get on with what you do best. Control couldn't be easier thanks to the 3-way pickup selector, Master Volume and Master Tone knobs you're always a fingertip away from subtle to explosive tones.
As previously noted, all the customary appointments you would expect to see on a Les Paul Standard are here: LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge with LockTone Stopbar tailpiece, all-metal 3-way pickup toggle switch, 14:1 ratio tuning machine heads for improved tuning integrity and 12" fingerboard radius for seamless string bending.

I've been playing acoustic for a few months and made a decision to buy an electric. As there are so many on the market at the moment I really couldn't decide which one was right for me. I wanted a good make and heard that Epiphone was a reliable choice. I couldn't make up my mind between a Strat or a Les Paul and in the end went for a Les Paul. I think in the end I have made the right choice. The guitar feels really comfortable in my hands and the sound through the amp is really good.

Bought this as an addition to my acoustic and I like its action and tone. I am taking lessons and I find this a very good guitar to learn on. As a novice I can only say that if you are looking for a reasonably priced electric I would go for this. Very pleased.
