If you're looking for a comfortable, and reliable model that is great for practising and gigging with at an affordable price, then this is the guitar you're looking for.

Classic Les Paul Design

The body is shaped to the instantly recognisable single-cutaway Les Paul profile, and crafted using mahogany to guarantee the customary full-bodied ‘Les Paul’ tone. The power produced by this simple design is satisfyingly weighty, dishing out plenty of clout along with a generous dynamic range. The vintage sunburst finish gives the body a cool, classic aesthetic.

Fitted to the body is a mahogany neck, which offers a reassuringly sturdy feel as you play, allowing you to perform with the utmost confidence. Shaped to the SlimTaper "D" neck profile, running your hands along the slender mahogany couldn't feel more accommodating or comfortable. Paired with the neck is a delightful rosewood fingerboard, home to 22-frets that are adorned with white dot position inlays to aid in your navigation. The fingerboard radius is shaped to 12", a measurement that has been found to guarantee a stable platform for executing smooth string bends.

Powerful Alnico Humbuckers

The Les Paul Special II is fitted with Alnico 650R and 700T humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions respectively. Whether you're a: chicken picker, flat picker, sweeper, shredder, tapper or strummer, this perfectly matched pair of beauties will ensure that the sound you're looking for can be achieved with minimal effort, allowing you to get on with what you do best. Control couldn't be easier thanks to the 3-way pickup selector, Master Volume and Master Tone knobs you're always a fingertip away from subtle to explosive tones.

Resilient Hardware

In order to uphold tuning integrity, string intonation and tension with precision, the Special II benefits from an impressive hardware setup. The LockTone tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece create a seamless connection between the strings and body, whilst the 14:1 ratio tuning machines keep tuning held steadfast throughout each and every performance.

Whether you're new to the guitar, or have experience under your belt, every guitarist will appreciate the comfortable playing feel afforded by the excellent build quality of the Epiphone Les Paul Special II. The tonal offerings delivered by the pair of Alnico powered humbuckers covers all genres nicely, with just the right amount of sizzle without becoming harsh or gritty. The vibrant vintage sunburst finish completes the package neatly.

After buying this guitar I feel like a professional after playing the classical guitar for 3 years I wanted to learn the electric and I picked the right one as it's great.

I went into Dawsons to buy a beginners guitar and this is certainly not a beginner’s guitar, it's a pro guitar!

I went into Dawsons hopeful, but strongly believing it was pointless searching for the perfect guitar for less than £150. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have had this guitar for just one week, and since I picked it up I have felt like an expert! It makes a warm, beautiful sound no different to the sound someone like Joe Perry would use, and for that I give this a 5 star (need I say more?). Thank you Dawsons!
