The body is shaped to the instantly recognisable single-cutaway Les Paul profile, and built using solid wood to generate the customary ‘Les Paul’ tone. Fitted to the body is bolt-on hard maple neck, which has been shaped to be accommodating and fast playing, great for honing your skills, and progressing towards advanced techniques. Paired with the neck is a high-quality rosewood fingerboard, which carries 22-frets and white dot position inlays to guide your way.
The Les Paul Special II is fitted with Alnico 650R and 700T humbuckers at the neck and bridge positions respectively. Whether you're a chicken picker, flat picker, sweeper, shredder, tapper or strummer, this perfectly matched pair of beauties will ensure that the sound you're looking for can be achieved with minimal effort, allowing you to get on with what you do best. Control couldn't be easier thanks to the 3-way pickup selector, Master Volume and Master Tone knobs you're always a fingertip away from subtle to explosive tones.
To guarantee a stable feel as you play, the Special II LP benefits from a tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, which work together to maintain string intonation and stability. The 14:1 gear ratio tuning machines keep tuning held steadfast throughout each and every performance.
Electar-10 Guitar Amplifier Combo
Portable and excellent for practice, recording or playing small gigs, the Epiphone Electar-10, 10-watt amplifier is supplied with the Epiphone Les Paul Player Pack. Using the included 10-foot guitar cable, simply plug in and you have access to a classic open-back sound through a powerful 6" speaker.
Control is kept nice and simple. There is a Clean/Overdrive button that allows you to choose between a wide range of tones, depending on your playing style. The tone can be shaped using the treble and bass pots, then use the Master pot to dial it up as loud as you wish. For silent practise the Electar-10 has a headphone output. The Auxiliary input allows you to connect external sound sources such as an MP3 player, to jam along with your favourite tracks.
The clip-on headstock tuner included with the Epiphone Les Paul Performance Pack makes tuning easy. Just clip it on, pluck a string and the tuner’s screen will display your turning and let you know if the string needs to be tightened or loosened.
