An original Epiphone design, the Wildkat has long been popular for its comfortable playability, vintage tone and amazing sustain. Now in a limited edition Black Royale finish the Epiphone Wildkat is looking better than ever.

Construction

A new and dark twist on the original Royale Series the Epiphone Limited Edition Wildkat Black Royale looks resplendent with a black pearl finish, subtle silver sparkle body and neck binding, and nickel hardware to offer a guitar with a muted, gentlemanly glamour.

Offering the warm sound and rich sustain the model is famed for the body of the Epiphone Wildkat Black Royale Electric Guitar is constructed from mahogany. The body is acoustic-like but with the addition of an ES335-esque centre block. The size of the guitar actually sits somewhere between an ES335 and a Les Paul, to create an extremely comfortable, and lightweight, archtop guitar.

Paired with the body of the Limited Edition Epiphone Wildkat Black Royale is a glued-in mahogany neck that extends the tone and sustain of the guitar, while a rosewood fingerboard tops the neck and is adorned with classic pearloid dot inlays.

Electronics

A pair of P-90 single coils (P-90T in the bridge/P-90R in the neck) give the Black Epiphone Wildkat Royale the vintage Wildkat tone you would expect, while a B70 licensed Bigsby vibrato gives you extra sonic versatility, in addition to the LockTone Tune-o-matic offering excellent sustain and solid intonation.

Full control over the Epiphone Wildkat Black Royale Guitar’s pickups is offered by a unique configuration of individual neck and bridge volume controls knobs, an additional master volume knob and a master tone knob, along with a 3-way pickup selector switch.

Further notable features of the Epiphone Wildkat Black Royale include Grover Kidney 14:1 Ratio machine heads and a vintage metal Epiphone nameplate on a Dovewing 3-on-a-side headstock.
