I’ve had this mic a few weeks now and the build quality is fantastic, it came with a great shock mount which has proved just as good as the mic. The sound quality obviously isn’t what you would get of £300+ mics but for the price it really packs a punch, it has a nice heavy feel so you know its been built well. I use it with the cheapest mixer in the alto range but the pair makes a great combo.
The sensitivity of the mic is amazing, which I was surprised for by the price, yet it certainly has the clarity that you need for home recordings. I tested it out in the studio with my band, and it picks up every detail when used on amps, and even made a decent live mic when the gain was down low. Overall this is definitely worth looking at if your on a budget, but as well other mics such as the Behringer C1 are worth looking at too as it as well has it strengths. Its a very strong contender and will do its job in style.

We all like the top brand names but I am so glad to see that Dawsons also do their homework when it comes to introductory level products. Having just purchased a BM1 studio mic I am pleasantly surprised at just how well this little brother performs. It certainly is without any question on a par with equivalent mics costing 3 times as much.
Ok, it's partly to do with the general design of this type of mic but to be able to buy into this level of production quality at this price is nothing short of amazing.
