The Farida D8-X OP acoustic guitar has been designed with new acoustic players, and those making the transition from electric guitar in mind. The design may be a simple, stripped-back affair, but the playing-feel and timbre of this gorgeous is anything but plain. Farida have gone to great lengths to ensure the D8-X OP is a fantastic all-rounder than everyone will enjoy playing.

The body has been shaped to the powerful dreadnought body profile, which has a spacious inner chamber that allows the tonewoods to resonate fully and develop a large sound, giving the D8-X a wide dynamic range. As this model is a revised version of the D8, Farida have applied less lacquer to the finish of this model, which helps the tonewoods to resonate more freely, and produces a richer, more natural-sounding timbre.

The back and sides of the guitar have been crafted using mahogany, a solid wood that is favoured for its rich warmth and powerful character. The top has been made using spruce, which is much brighter in tone than the mahogany and helps to balance out the tonality of the body. Not only that but spruce is a highly resonant wood, which allows it to project the tones produced by the dreadnought profile with ease, reinforcing the impressive dynamic range of the D8-X.

Neck and Fingerboard

As with the body, Farida have gone to great lengths to ensure the neck profile and fingerboard partnership not only feel right in the hand, but also work harmoniously with the body tonewoods to produce notes of the utmost richness and clarity. The 20-fret sonokelin fingerboard provides a sumptuous feel for the fingers, whilst dot position inlays guide your way in style.

The Farida D8-X OP has been designed to accommodate the needs of beginners, new acoustic players and students, but more experienced players, those who're looking for a second instrument or a reliable back-up, should consider this model too. The build quality of all Farida instruments is astounding for the price, and the D8-X OP offers incredible value for money. In terms of playability, sound quality, and consistency of construction, you will struggle to find a finer example at the same price.

Posted on 21/11/2015 by David I feel like I definitely have to grab this guitar. there's good reviews all over the net about this guitar
Posted on 22/03/2014 by Lucy I started guitar a few months ago and I bought this guitar because I didn't have a lot of money at the time. Anyway this guitar is a great guitar for beginners and people who are just over the beginner level. The sound is great and it feels great when you hold it. The only thing that was wrong is that I bought it online and it says it comes with the bag, the stand and the strap and well mine didn't but everything else is great
Great guitar
Posted on 28/01/2014 by Grab68 After many years threatening to learn, I finally took the plunge and bought my first guitar. Despite snapping a string trying to tune it, I took it to a nearby music shop and got the string replaced and asked them to tune it, I eventually got to play it on the Sunday and practiced my first chords. I find the guitar to be very comfortable for me, and it produces a 'high quality tone, as described. The price of this deal, you also get a bag, strap and stand, makes this ideal for anyone starting out and I would highly recommend it. Early days, but I am enjoying learning and look forward to being able to play some tunes. A great first guitar.
