The Fender 50s Precision Bass Guitar gives modern players the chance to enjoy the look, sound and vibe of Fender’s first basses through the accurate recreation of the original instruments. This bass gives you everything you would expect of a classic instrument without the accompanying price tag.
The design and colouring of the Fender 50s Precision Bass Guitar looks as though it has been plucked straight from a 1950s television set during a performance and offered up untarnished but with all of the charm of the era. Exceptional effort has gone into providing the same vintage styling and appointments that would have featured on the original model but with crucial modern improvements and updates.
Classic Body Aesthetics
The alder body of the instrument has been crafted into the very shape that it was conceived with back in the ’50; the form that has become the most recognised bass shape the world over. This has then been treated to a Black urethane finish and is partnered with a single-ply gold anodized aluminium pickguard, which stands out in high contrast to the body, and is itself an authentically ’50s addition.
One-Piece Maple Neck
Joined to the body and kept sturdy by a four-bolt neck plate is a big, sturdy maple neck, carved to the popular C Shape profile and finished with gloss urethane. However with the Fender 50s Precision Bass Guitar, the neck and fingerboard are a single piece, giving you a seamless neck/fingerboard design, which both looks and feels amazing.
Vintage-Style Frets, Reverse Open-Gear Bass Tuners
The fingerboard measures 7.25” in radius, with a nut width of 1.75” (the nut itself is crafted from synthetic bone), and a set of 20 vintage style frets and black dot inlays marks your way. Completing the 34” scale length of the Fender ‘50s Precision Bass is a 4-saddle American Vintage bass bridge, while at the headstock is a set of American Vintage reverse open-gear bass tuners.
Pure ‘50s Tone
Mirroring the style of the Fender 50s Precision Bass Guitar, to give it the authentic sound of the ‘50s, is a Vintage Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup; producing the strong, powerful voice that ensured the P-Bass’ place in history.
