This updated, 2012 version of the Fender American Standard Jazz Bass sees it fitted with Fender Custom Shop ’60s Jazz Bass single-coil pickups. All the tonal versatility you would expect from this model is still in attendance with warm lows, attacking mids and defined highs, though the new pickups also throw in extra growl for your money.
Aside from the new pickups the classic ingredients of what makes a JBass are here, so you know exactly what you’re getting, with the quality that has seen this bass grace the hands of so many legends over the decades. The traditional Jazz Body shape gives you that legendary look, while the neck is constructed from maple and carved to the comfortable Modern “C” Shape. It’s satin-finished at the back for quick playing. Likewise the bass’s maple fingerboard is buffed to make the Fender American Standard Jazz Bass even more playable, in addition to its 9.5”-14” compound radius and 20 medium-jumbo frets.
