Details

The Fender Classic Series 50's Stratocaster has a 21-fret bolt-on maple neck with the original "spaghetti" logo which will be familiar to fans of older classic Fender guitars. The 7.25 inch fretboard radius and soft "V" shaped neck profile will feel more rounded than today's more common styles, but remember heavy metal wasn't around then!

The Fender Classic Series pays tribute to the great guitar designs they built in decades gone by, which started the whole rock n roll explosion!

A Fender Stratocaster is now an iconic piece of modern music history, and has largely remained true to its original roots but the Classis Series 50's model has all the vintage appointments and colour options to give a super-cool retro vibe. Built in Fender's excellent Mexican factory, these guitars are a great way of owning a vintage-looking Strat without having to pay the price of a now highly collectable original instrument.

An alder body is the heart of any Stratocaster, and this is no exception. Add to this with a 1-ply white pickguard, aged plastic parts, vintage style tremolo bridge, vintage style machine heads, synthetic bone nut and 3 staggered pole-piece single coil pickups for fabulous surf tones!

A modern 5-way pickup selector switch has been fitted to get the "in-between" sounds, which were found by playing around with the original 3-way switch, and Fender ship the guitar in a deluxe gigbag.

Customer Reviews
Excellent instrument
Posted on 08/10/2014 by guitarman Instrument delivered and straight from the box (inside its bag) it was ready to play. Fully set up and tuned all I had to do was screw in the tremolo arm. The action is low and quick and the vintage style pickups with varying height poles give a real 50s sound - the "wild" bridge pickup giving one hell of a twang. For the "budget" price (compared to the USA version) this is definitely value for money. Just a shame there isn't a bridge-neck connecting switch to give a telecaster type sound, but I suppose this would be too much of a deviation from the 50s specs (the 5 position selector switch is technically about 20 years too early, but that's just splitting hairs I suppose).
