The Fender Deluxe Lonestar Stratocaster is all about tone. First and foremost it is a Strat, though, so you know that stunning design, absolute playability and versatility are always going to be on the cards, but this monster has been hot-rodded to blow everything else out of the water, like going fishing with a nuclear warhead.
The beautiful thing about the Fender Deluxe Lonestar Stratocaster is how unassuming it seems. Other than the indiscreet humbucker sitting at the bridge, the body is classic Strat through-and-through, which just makes it even better.
The icon, dual cutaway design not only looks as good as it always has but it mean you can get even more out of the pickups as you make your way across the whole length of the neck. The body also benefits from the uncommon Burgundy Mist Metallic gloss polyester finish, which stands out amongst other Strats. This is complimented perfectly by a 3-ply white pickguard and aged white plastic control knobs and switch tips.
Modern C Profile Neck
Another classic Strat ingredient is found securely joined to the body by a four-bolt neck plate; a Modern C profile-shaped maple neck, finished in gloss urethane. The playing surface of the neck comes in the form of a maple fingerboard, outfitted with 21 medium jumbo frets, with black dot position inlays marking your way.
Head, Bridge, and Everything In Between
The neck leads the way up to another classic component included with the Fender Deluxe Lonestar Strat; a large 70s style Stratocaster headstock and logo decal with dual wing trees, while at the other end of the neck is a vintage-styled synchronized tremolo bridge. Hardware is finished in chrome throughout.
Classic design is a beautiful thing but if you’re invited to heavy metal gig you don’t expect to hear Mozart (though what a mash up that would be). It is with that in mind that you’ll find less traditional pickups in the Fender Deluxe Lonestar Stratocaster.
In place of the usual fare in the neck and middle positions are Texas special single-coil Strat pickups, while at the bridge is a Twin Head humbucking pickup. Furthermore, with the S-1 Switch activated (via push/pull volume control knob) you can gain access to the rear coil of the humbucker.
With these components in place, along with the five-way pickup selector, and master volume and two tone controls, you have a massive arsenal of tones available from an instrument that is dying to be gigged with.
