At long last you can own a piece of rock and roll gold in the form of the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang. Cobain along with the rest of Nirvana were quickly considered to be the saviours of rock and roll in the 90s, when their single "Smells Like Teen Spirit” (from their second album, Nevermind) projected them into the public eye.
This guitar is based around the ’69 “Competition Series” Fender Mustang guitar Kurt Cobain used on "Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Originally produced as a student model, the Mustang is known for its light body and short 24” scale length with a thin maple neck (topped by a rosewood fingerboard) that makes for a superbly playable and easy to handle guitar.
Although the original was armed with two single coil pickups for their thin transparent sound the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang pairs up a single coil at the neck with a direct mounted Seymour Duncan JB Humbucker at the bridge. With its higher output and capability to go from sweet, warm tones to raw rock and roll this pickup is perfect for recreating the sound of Nirvana.
Keeping control of the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang guitars sonic capabilities are a 3-way switch, 2 On/Off slide switches, master volume and master tone controls.
