Fender Sonoran SCE Electro Acoustic Guitar - Lake Placid

Upgraded for 2012 the Fender Sonoran SCE Electro Acoustic has a few subtle changes that’ll make a big difference to this campfire classic. Starting off the bridge has been replaced with a vintage-style “Viking” bridge that finishes off the guitars distinct features nicely. Fender has also opted for a bone nut & saddle for the increase in volume and clarity they provide. For its improved stability and resistance to warping (and probably just because its looks cooler) the Fender Sonoran SCE now has a three-ply vintage-style pickguard.

Updates aside this is still a Fender Sonoran SCE so you can still expect all the unique aesthetics that so many have fallen in love with since the guitars inception. The checkerboard rosette is still in place that, along with the pickguard, proudly offsets the bold body colour that the guitar is famed for along. Sitting at the top of the neck is the body-coloured Strat headstock that, along with the rest of the guitars contemporary styling, is strangely fitting.

Construction

Tying in with its beach party aesthetics the Fender Sonoran SCE Electro Acoustic pairs up a solid spruce top with mahogany back & sides to give a laid back, mellow tone. Being a cutaway body the guitar also gives you access to the upper frets. Along with the Strat headstock electric guitars players, or those wanting a fast-playing acoustic, will feel at home with the Fender Sonoran SCE guitars soft C-shaped maple (dual-action truss rod) neck, topped by a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.

Fishman Isys III pickup system with active preamp

Although its woods already provide great projection, for those times when you need a little more the Fender Sonoran SCE Electro Acoustic guitar comes with the Fishman Isys III pickup system with active preamp. Along with letting you increase the volume of all those campfire classics the Fishman Isys III also gives you onboard bass, mid and treble controls, not to mention the built-in tuner and low battery indicator.

With everything that has made this guitar a classic along with some updates that add to the guitars tone and already stunningly unique aesthetics the Fender Sonoran SCE Electro Acoustic is a unique guitar that just keeps getting better.
