The Fender Standard Stratocaster electric guitar offers the quintessential features of the legendary instrument that has been favoured by guitar legends for decades. This Made In Mexico (MIM) model is, arguably, one of the finest models the company has ever produced, and - quite possibly - one of the bargains of the century.
Sleek Strat Style
The body is shaped to the cool Strat body shape that has made it one of the most popular guitar models ever. The ergonomically designed contours guarantee a playing feel that has often been imitated by other manufacturers, but no one does it quite like Fender. The body is constructed from alder, a tonewood that has been favoured by Fender since the late '50s and early '60s. Alder benefits from the enviable combination of being light in weight, whilst retaining a well-balanced tone with fat mids and excellent lows. The highs offer a subtle fizz without becoming brittle, and the level of sustain is very generous. This model has been completed in arctic white, which in turn has been protected by a coating of polyester to preserve the finish for as long as possible, enabling it to age gracefully. A tasteful off-white 3-ply parchment pickguard protects the top around the pickups and controls.
Fast-playing Neck Design
The maple neck offers a supple yet rigid playing support. Shaped to the modern "C" profile, both new players and seasoned pros will appreciate the ease with which this shape allows you to perform. The satin finish on the rear of the neck prevents any tackiness from affecting your movement during performances, whilst the gloss finish to the front prevents untimely wear from affecting the maple. Married to the neck is a sumptuous 21-fret maple fingerboard. The fingerboard radius is shaped to the customary Strat 9.5" radius, giving the smooth shape that we've all come to know and love. Executing speedy licks across a Stratocaster neck is one of life's joys, and with this beauty you're guaranteed to have years of fun.
Three standard single-coil Strat pickups are fitted in the neck, middle and bridge (offset) positions respectively. Control comes in the form of a 5-position pickup selector switch, as well as tone controls for the neck and middle pickups, and a master volume pot. The simplified setup belies the complex range of tonal options at your fingertips. Whatever style of music you play, the setup in the Standard Strat enables you to nail the perfect tone with ease. The electronics are also shielded to reduce unwanted low-level background noise, so if you play high-gain music such as punk, rock, or metal, you can rest assured that noise generated by the pickups will be kept to an absolute minimum. In keeping with the overall finish of the Stratocaster, the switch tips and control knobs are completed in a parchment finish.
Fender has improved the 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge, giving the Strat's sustain even more power. The vintage-style tremolo arm enables you to inject subtle vibrato whenever you wish. Intonation is maintained solidly, whilst the standard cast/sealed tuning machines maintain tuning integrity with absolute precision.
The Fender Standard Stratocaster is perfect for those starting out, those who need a solid and reliable gigging partner, anyone looking for a versatile recording tool, or anyone who needs to add an incredible Strat to their collection. The striking arctic white finish is sure to grab the attention of everyone during a performance, and if that doesn't work that your searing tones will do the job!

This guitar is the most beautiful guitar I have ever played, the sound of it is good, and the neckboard is great for fingerwork, if you want a Fender and not too dear, this guitar will be worth paying for and you to play. It's a great guitar:)

What a lovely guitar. Beautiful action and incredibly playable. Definitely prefer maple necks to rosewood too. It has a very crisp sound and overall well worth the excellent price for a Fender built Stratocaster. Where's my plectrum?

Best guitar you can get at this price, the setup that Dawsons do is outstanding! Out of the box and ready to play. The neck is heavenly. Brilliant for beginners or lovers of a good strat.
A refined instrument to play...

For the price I paid for this, it's just incredibly playable and there's so much guitar for the price! If you're looking for a guitar under £500, this is the guitar to buy and it's in excess of £100 under the £500 margin! A stupendous object and a pleasure to play.

So, yep, it's made in Mexico... I've played MIA and MIJ Strats and Teles and when the time came to buy my first one I picked this because of the feel and sound, and for the money there is a lot of guitar here. Okay, it may not appreciate in value, but neither will most of the guitars out there! If you're avoiding buying it for the sticker or serial number, I say you've missed the point. Buy this because you want a well-made example of THE name in guitars that you will be itching to pick up and play five minutes after you put it down! I can barely stand to put mine down!
