Although the population of ukuleles is growing, when it comes to body shape there are not many that stand out from the crowd. Fender have bucked this trend with the introduction of the Fender Ukulele 52, a ukulele shaped to the form of their classic first electric guitar, the Telecaster; sporting both the iconic guitar’s headstock and body shape.
With the Fender Ukulele 52, the guitar giants haven’t rested on their laurels with the construction materials, just because it looks good. The 52 employs a classic combination of a spruce top and mahogany back & sides, giving that rich, uke sound. This is tastefully finished in satin with an aged white binding that continues along the fingerboard and is applied to the heel cap.
Joined to this is a three-piece mahogany, satin neck, topped with a 19-fret, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays that leads to rosewood bridge. The headstock of the Fender Ukulele 52 has been overlaid with maple and adorned with a gold-screened Fender logo.
Purpose-built for the dimensions and sound of a ukulele, the Fender Ukulele 52 is equipped with a Fishman KULA pickup/preamp system. Along with providing the necessary connections to get you hooked up to an amp of PA system, the Fishman KULA gives you onboard controls comprised of: volume, 3-band EQ, and On/Off, along with a handy onboard tuner.
