The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 takes studio-quality recording on the road with compact design, simple interface and it's distinctive red annodised aluminium case (which is great looking and ultra-durable). The 2i2 features the same preamps as their flagship Liquid Saffire 56 interface, which are transparent, provide lots of headroom and are very lowq noise. Neutrik combination inputs enable connection of microphone, line and instrument level sources - providing the sort of flexability required on the road. Built-in phantom power enables the use of all types of microphone (including dynamic, ribbon and condenser) and the amazing pres ensure every nuance and every detail is captured.
The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 front panel uses 'halo' indicators around the gain controls to show when the preamps are reaching their maximum input level, and when they are peaking. The monitoring section offers a level control and seperate headphone amp, with the option of direct hardware monitoring of the inputs for zero-latency monitoring. Each input has a selector switch for choosing line or instrument input level.
To top it off the 2i2 comes with the amazing Scarlett plugin suite which contains top-end Compression, Gating , EQ, and Reverb effects for all DAWs (including Garageband, Ableton Live, Cubase, Pro Tools and Logic). The featured plug-ins con in both VST/AU and RTAS (Pro Tools) format for use with any system. Each of the plugins is fully customisable, but comes with an array of fantastic presets for rapid mixing.
