The Gallien-Krueger MB 112-II UL 1x12" 200-Watt Bass Combo Amplifier is a highly practical combo amplifier that is great for a wide range of performance applications.
The MB 112-II features all digital circuitry to produce its impressive 200-Watt output, which gives it an enormous amount of power and dynamic range to play with. Inside the cabinet is a single 12-inch speaker, which translates the energy created by the internal circuitry with stark articulation. As a standalone performing tool, the MB 112-II easily packs enough power to see you through most gigging applications. However, if you want to inject greater power into your live rig, the Chain Out connection on the rear of the amp allows you to connect directly to Gallien-Krueger's MBP powered cabinets.
Front Panel Controls
The front panel is home to the instrument input, which has a -10dB pad switch to reduce hot signals from active instruments or other high input sources. Next to the pad switch is a Gain pot, which can be used to introduce some preamp gain to the input for an overdriven tone. It can also be used alongside the pad switch to optimise the amp's headroom. The Contour switch scoops-out the midrange frequencies, accentuating the low-end and upper frequency ranges.
Four Band EQ
The MB 112-II boasts GK's legendary four-band EQ, which allows you to acutely attenuate: Bass, Low-Mid, Hi-Mid and Treble frequencies to sculpt and carve your tone to suit a wide range of musical styles.
The Bass control enables a +10dB boost or cut around 60Hz to create a much fatter low-end energy or tighten things up for a controlled low-end pop. The Low-Mid control boosts and cuts around 250Hz by +6dB/-10dB, allowing you to accentuate the depth of clarity of your overall tone. The Hi-Mid control boosts and cuts at the 1kHz range, which allows you to hone in on your lower string harmonics to deliver greater punch to your tone. The Treble control boosts and cuts at 7kHz, which allows you to soften the upper frequencies and remove high-end pop or definition - particularly useful for when you want to soften the response of your slapping technique.
The balanced direct output XLR jack connects the MB 112-II directly to a PA system. The Auxiliary In jack, which allows you to connect an external audio source (e.g. MP3 player) so that you can practise and play along with your favourite songs. If you're performing solo, it is a great way to play with a backing track. The headphone output allows you to practise in silence, great for late night sessions at home or on the road.
The MB 112-II is lightweight and easy to transport, making it the perfect go-to amp for practise, jam sessions, and small gigs. Gallien-Krueger has gone to every effort to ensure it is as solid as a rock, and you can rest assured that this little beauty has your tone covered no matter what.
The Gallien-Krueger MB 112-II UL 1x12" 200-Watt Bass Combo Amplifier is a fantastic performance partner that you will never tire of bringing along to every gig. It is portable, powerful, adaptable, expandable, and is as reliable they come - perfect for both amateur and professional applications.
