The Gibson 1932 L-00 Reissue Acoustic Guitar in Vintage Sunburst is the closest rendition of this classic model you can get your hands on - short of owning a mint condition original. The sublime Parlour-sized guitar has been crafted to the highest standard of quality, with premium tonewoods and first-rate Gibson craftsmanship on hand to create a guitar that can be cherished for generations to come.
As we've come to expect from Gibson, nothing has been spared in guaranteeing the longevity and peerless quality of this reissue. The top of the Gibson 1932 L-00 Reissue has been built using solid Adirondack red spruce, a highly reverberant tonewood that projects the timbre of the guitar with exceptional clarity. The back and sides are constructed from pattern-grade solid mahogany, a warm tonewood that produces a dense mid to low-end timbre, which offers a forceful output.
Diminutive Body Profile
The diminutive parlour dimensions take nothing away from the rich character of these woods, and the projection and power of the L-00 easily matches that of a model with larger proportions. Gibson’s 1930’s period-correct X-braced bracing with hot hide glue, reinforces the structural integrity of the top.
The top benefits from single-ply binding, whilst the sound hole is adorned with a traditional rosette, complementing the sumptuous vintage sunburst finish. Protecting the finish is a hand-sprayed coating of nitrocellulose lacquer, which is carefully formulated and applied to enable the tonewoods to resonate fully whilst offering the highest level of protection. The traditional L-00 Firestripe pick guard offers further protection to the body around the sound hole from unwanted scrapes.
Durable Mahogany Neck
Fitted to the body via a traditional compound dovetail joint at the 14th fret - and again using hide glue for reinforcement -, is the durable mahogany neck, which has been shaped to a 1930's "V"-shaped profile. The neck is paired with a stunning rosewood fingerboard that is home to 19-frets that are decorated with 1/4" mother of pearl dot position inlays. Period-correct standard fret wire is in place to adhere to the vintage look and feel, whilst a generous 12" radius secures that much sought after 'Gibson playability'.
The traditional AJ headstock has been set to the customary 17-degree angle, working in partnership with the Black Graphtech nut to ensure that string tension is maintained. The 3-in-line period-correct cream button tuning machines maintain a 14:1 tuning ratio. The traditional rectangle rosewood bridge with extended-slot bone saddle upholds intonation perfectly. Every piece of hardware carries out its task dutifully to create a luxurious playing feel.
Pre-War Gibson Hardshell Case
To complete the first-class package, Gibson has included a pre-war red line case, with black tolex exterior and purple fabric interior, to create the durable and protective partner for your pride and joy. Whether it stays at home or joins you on tour, you can rest assured that your 1932 L-00 Reissue is safe and secure. You will also receive an Owner's Manual, and the Gibson Gold Warranty.
The Gibson 1932 L-00 Reissue Acoustic Guitar in Vintage Sunburst is a loving tribute to a classic model, by a team who have put their heart and soul into crafting an immaculate model. It doesn't get much better than this.
