Taking the iconic shape of the Flying V guitar back to its traditional roots, the Gibson 2016 Flying V Traditional Electric Guitar combines vintage design with traditional appointments to create this beautiful instrument that has been held dear by guitarists all over the world since its creation in the late 50s.
Consistently good tone woods
Gibson are known for selecting the best tone woods to create exquisite sounds and tones, and the Flying V is constructed out of solid mahogany to do just that. The body has a slenderer feel for comfortable playing but that doesn’t mean that the sustained sound will be compromised at all. This limited edition model is equipped with a pickguard to protect the beautiful body top. The 2016 Traditional Flying V is available in four different colour finishes to suit your style.
Slim mahogany neck
Elegantly but firmly fitted to the V-shaped body is a Grade A mahogany neck that, along with the slimmer body, balances evenly to ensure that it rests against you comfortably without the need to constantly readjust. The neck joins the body by the Mortise and Tenon joint and is accompanied by a luxurious 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with acrylic dot inlays.
The headstock has also had a redesign to improve balance and comfort and is fitted with Grover kidney buttons at each side of the classic “arrowhead”.
The 2016 Traditional Flying V is armed with an uncovered ‘57 Classic Humbucker in the neck position and an uncovered Zebra BB3 pickup in the bridge that together, produce a rich tonality that rebounds exquisitely against the mahogany tone wood. These pickups also offer higher gain and sometimes a bluesy bite in their output.
To the lower bout of the body is a chrome plated Tune-o-matic bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece to achieve impeccable resonance and sustain every time.
Gibson have supplied the 2016 traditional Flying V with a gig bag to ensure that your new axe is protected wherever you take it.
