Since Gibson were first established in 1894 they have built a huge, diverse range of truly first-rate guitars. The 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded is a new High Performance model for 2016 which takes all the classic features of its historic counterpart and gives them an improved, modern twist. The Les Paul is an iconic Gibson model which has been popularised over the years by many remarkable guitarists such as Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and Pete Townshend (The Who).
MAPLE AND MAHOGANY
The 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded model has a two-piece plain maple body top combined with mahogany back and sides. The body has carved contours and is given modern weight relief which gives it a significantly lighter feel making it incredibly comfortable to play whether sitting or standing. The blend of the maple and mahogany tonewoods allows the guitar to resonate vociferously, helping to generate a rich full-bodied sound.
SLIM MAHOGANY NECK
Securely fitted to the body via a traditional Mortis and Tenon joint is a slim, single piece mahogany neck with a soloist profile. The soloist neck width has a slightly larger scope than previous models, but is probably the best neck yet for guitarists who enjoy ripping out fast, impressive solos. To make solos even easier, the neck is given a worn satin finish and has a brand new, fast-access neck heel which promotes rapid note transition.
Married to the mahogany neck is a sumptuous, rounded 22-fret rosewood fingerboard which is adorned with Mother of Pearl Trapezoid inlays to guide you up and down the frets with confidence.
At the top of the neck is an adjustable nut angle whereby you can adjust your string height to suit your style ensuring that you feel ultimately comfortable and can play on for hours.
Gibson have fitted PAF Burstbucker pickups to the neck and bridge of the 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded High Performance model. Burstbuckers were designed to essentially recreate the authentic tone of the PAF pickup but in a modern pickup. The Burstbucker pickups give the 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded a classic sound thanks to the potted coils that help generate an energetic, high gain overdrive. The Burstbucker pickups certainly produce a big tonal bite and create a fantastic rock sound.
Four control knobs sit to the lower end of the guitar body for: lead volume, lead tone, rhythm volume and rhythm tone, and a three-way pickup switch allows you to adjust your sound to suit your playing needs.
HARDWARE AND FINISH
The Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded HP is furnished with a chrome plated Tune-o-Matic bridge with titanium saddles and a traditional stopbar tailpiece.
Fitted to the headstock are the next generation Gibson G-FORCE tuning machines which allow you to retune your strings with pure simplicity thanks to the built-in servo motors in each key that detect the strings’ vibrations and alter the tuning accordingly. The G-FORCE machines work quietly even when used manually, and it has an easy-to-read lit up display at the back of the headstock so that you can even retune on a dark stage.
The Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded High Performance model is an outstanding electric guitar that is inclusive of all the classic characteristics that we know in a Les Paul Studio while giving it an entirely modern twist. To help you keep your guitar in good shape, Gibson have supplied a High Performance gig bag to protect your new axe whether you’re on the road or keeping your guitar neatly stored when not in use.
