The Gibson J185 EC Modern Classic is made with hand selected woods and is possibly the world's most premium acoustic electric with onboard controls. It is a traditional 1950's model updated to accommodate todays most discriminating players. The J-185 EC has a jumbo body style with cutaway freedom, offering supreme playability, sweet timbre and huge projection. The premium Sitka spruce top on AAA flame maple back and sides produce wonderful resonance with tonal integrity. The built-in Fishman Prefix pickup and pre-amp with controls captures the warm, sweet tone perfectly. Eyecatching features include the abalone rosette, gold tuners, a rosewood fretboard inlaid with mother-of-pearl parallelograms plus body, neck and headstock binding.
