Joe Bonamassa recalls first beginning to play the guitar when he was just 4 years old, and his career was kickstarted in 1989 when he was just 12 years old when he opened for B.B. King at his live show at the Rochester Lilac Festival in New York.
Now, Joe Bonamassa is one of the most highly acclaimed blues guitarists the world has ever known. Now Joe Bonamassa has collaborated with Gibson USA to design this wonderful, personalised electric guitar, the Joe Bonamassa Bonabyrd Electric Guitar in Antique Pelham Blue.
The Bonabyrdis built using a high grade plain maple top and ultra-light weight mahogany for the back and sides. This is garnished with an antique pelham blue gloss finish and a white pickguard with matching binding.
The neck of the Joe Bonamassa Bonabyrd is crafted from a single piece of mahogany and is shaped to Bonamassa's own specification. A beautiful Indian rosewood fingerboard complete with pearloid trapezoid inlays leads you up to the 17 degree-angled Firebird style headstock compete with banjo style nickel plated tuners.
Custom pickup power
As you would expect, the sound of the Bonabyrd is incredible. To achieve this you get 2 custom buckers complete with Alnico III magnets and machine-wound coils. The pickups are in the bridge and neck positions and allow you to get versatile lead and rhythm sound with ease.
Each pickup comes with its own tone and volume control as well as the ability to change between pickups with the 3-way switching system. The electronics of the Joe Bonamassa Bonabyrd are clean and simple, letting you find your desired tone so that you can spend more time playing.
Only 100 of these epic guitars have been produced and the Gibson Joe Bonamassa Bonabyrd is definitely an instrument you will want to treasure for life. Each guitar has been hand signed by Joe himself and comes complete with a certificate of authenticity and custom shop silkscreened hardcase. This is truly a thing of beauty.
