A recreation of the mid-1950s model, but with modern improvements, the Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar is the top flight of the line.
Crafted from a solid piece of mahogany, the body of the Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar has been given strategically routed holes to lessen the weight of the guitar, whilst improving acoustic qualities and resonance. Capping this is a hand-carved maple top finished in Wine Red. Both the top and back feature a seven-ply body binding.
The neck on the Gibson Les Paul Custom is constructed from a solid piece of mahogany and carved to Gibson’s traditional rounded profile. Topping this is a richlite fingerboard with 22-frets and pearl block inlays. This leads to a multi-ply headstock adorned with a genuine mother of pearl, five-piece split diamond patterned inlay.
The Les Paul Custom was the first Gibson guitar to offer the ABR-1 Bridge, an invention that has not been bettered even today, and continues to be used to with the stopbar tailpiece, because of their unrivalled intonation.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar is armed up with a 490R, which offers the sought-after tone of original PAFs, while the 498T is equipped with an Alnico V magnet, making it hotter, for focussed mid-ranges and highs.
