The Gibson Memphis 2015 ES-339 Studio Electric Guitar in Ginger Burst is a stripped-back affair that is host to an awesome range of features at an affordable price. Built with form and function at the fore with simplified controls, this ES-339 is a workhorse that is at home on the stage.
The ES-339 body shape is smaller than that of the ES-335, making it much easier to wield. However, it still packs a weight punch, with a warm timbre that is projected with the utmost transparency. The body of the Gibson ES-339 is built to the classic double-cutaway semi-hollowbody shape using 3-ply maple. Finished in ginger burst, which is protected by smooth hi-gloss 90 sheen lacquer to preserve the finish for as long as possible. Stylish F-holes adorn the body top, whilst black binding ties the top, sides, and back together seamlessly.
Single-Piece Maple Neck
The single-piece maple neck meets the body via a mortise and tenon joint that is reinforced using Franklin Titebond 50 adhesive for maximum stability. New to the 2015 model are refinements to the traditional "C" neck profile, with slimmer dimensions that makes it play much faster. Paired with the neck is a 22-fret maple fingerboard, which is adorned with pearloid dot position inlays. Black fingerboard binding softens the edges of each fret, creating smoother transitions along the fretboard. Thanks to the double-cutaway body profile, every fret is with easy reach to be explored.
Sturdy and Responsive Hardware
The headstock is set to the customary 17-degree angle that Gibson employ, which contributes to the guitar's exceptional sustain, tuning integrity and uniform string tension. A gold Gibson decal resides between the die-cast alloy Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, which boast a 14:1 ratio synchronised spur gear system that maintains tuning integrity with absolute precision. Fitted to the body is the resilient partnership of Tone Pro AVR-2 nickel-plated die-cast alloy bridge, and nickel-plated die-cast zinc locking stop bar tailpiece, contributing to the ES-339's impressive sustain and intonation.
'57 Classic Humbuckers
The ES-339 Studio is equipped with a pair of highly versatile pickups, with a '57 Classic pickup in the neck position, and a Super '57 Classic in the bridge. With this pair at your disposal, you have a vast tonal universe to explore. The neck pickup provides lush, fat and thick warmth. The bridge pickup is much sharper, with a hotter output that will give you lead tones a searing edge. Whatever style of music you play, it couldn't be easier to get the perfect tone. With a master volume pot, a master tone pot, and a 3-way pickup selector switch, you can make lightning fast changes with the greatest of ease.
The Gibson Memphis 2015 ES-339 Studio Electric Guitar in Ginger Burst is supplied with a black hardshell case, enabling you to get out and gig as soon as it arrives. Plus, each model comes with its very own Gibson Memphis certificate of authenticity.
