Description

Details

The Gretsch G2220 Junior Jet Bass II is decked out with classic Gretsch appointments that look, great and give out powerful bass tone, with a short 30.3” scale neck for easier reach right up the neck and a punchier sound. The aesthetics are simple but make a statement with their simple elegance, this is a bass for people who want great tone with a no frills attitude.

The two mini-humbucker pickups give a thick tone with great sustain and a hotter output, which will help get the best out of your amp, with a brighter output from the bridge pickup and a warmer response from the neck pickup. The chrome hardware and four saddle bridge give a really clean look and offer excellent tuning stability and resonance with die-cast tuners. There are two knobs, volume and tone, so you can control your sound quickly without unnecessary complication. The Gretsch logo adorns the headstock, and is also featured on the pickguard, which adds a touch of class to the design. This is hands down an amazing bass on all accounts for the money.

Just goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune to get a lot
Posted on 02/09/2015 by LOYAL BLOOD First class - plays beautifully right out of the box, brilliant tone and very easy to play - bought for a Royal Blood Tribute band - bought 2 in fact. The best value instrument I have ever owned - outstandingly good.
Mine is the single-pickup version, but...
Posted on 22/03/2014 by pjt Great piece of kit.

I went for the now-discontinued single humbucker version, but this is the same design albeit with the second one included.

Nice bass, lovely vintage warmth (I'd say it's between a Thunderbird and a precision) in the sound, chunky neck and quality feel. This is an honest student instrument the likes of which are few and far between now. it also looks absolutely great, which is always a help.

Give it some consideration.
