With the design of the G5620T center block electromatic guitar, Gretsch have created an electric guitar that combines raw power with the ability to bend and tame the signal to your heart's desire.
The arched back and sides of the body are built using 5-ply maple, a dense, hard and heavy tonewood that combines extremely bright, precise tones with tight lows and a very delicate output. The arched top is also crafted from maple, giving the G5620T a highly colourful but well-balanced tone. Running along the full length of the body is a spruce centre block, allowing the hollow body to resist resonant-frequency feedback, so that when gain is applied to the output signal it can be controlled to get a killer tone. The spruce and maple combine to give excellent tonal depth so that every note rings out loud and clear. The body's finish is protected by a thin but extremely durable coating of gloss urethane. To complete the incredibly classy finish - as well as offer a greater level of protection against knocks and scrapes -, the body and sound holes are neatly bound.
The maple neck delivers a tightness and cut in definition to the G5620T's tone, with sizzling highs and firm lows. It produces dynamic mids that have a snappy attack with plenty of punch when played hard, but excellent clarity when played light and soft. Combined with the 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, this produces a sweetly softened and warmer sound.
The fingerboard is cut to a very comfortable 12.5" radius that rests sweetly in the hand and is absolutely perfect for string bends without the unwanted fret buzz. Classic white pearloid neo-classic "Thumbnail" position inlays guide your way as you play.
The G5620T features a Black Top Filter'Tron pickup in the bridge position and a dual-coil SUPER HiLo'Tron pickup in the neck position. The Black Top mini-humbucker in the bridge delivers a solid output with masses of power and punch, perfect for those looking for a guitar to rock out on. The dual-coil Super HiLo'Tron represents the high-end frequency output by providing shimmering, golden tones with crystal clear clarity.
The anchored adjusto-matic bridge ensures the integrity of the strings' connection to the body is guaranteed throughout each and every performance. Greater artistic control over the signal can be attained thanks to the Bigsby-license B70 vibrato tailpiece, allowing you to add deft touches throughout your performance. Tuning integrity is maintained thanks to the excellent Grover die cast tuners across the headstock.
