The Tanglewood TB18 4 String Tenor Banjo is an excellent banjo for players looking for a solid, reliable instrument that will play well and sound great. The four string tenor banjo is a standard for 'Irish' stlye banjo playing. The neck and resonator are mahogany, with a rosewood fingerboard for crisp articulation and warm tone, with a maple/rosewood bridge for a stable connection to the resonator head. The drum head is a premium coated Remo 11" skin with a chrome tension hoop that looks brilliant and holds the skin at an even tension for maximum resonance, and there are 18 brackets to distribute the tension evenly.
This 4-String Tanglewood Tenor Banjo is ideal as an intermediate level instrument, as it doesn't compromise on playability and doesn't compromise on build quality, but at the same time goes without the more luxurious appointments such as exotic woods, premium metals and hand engraving that make many pro models much more expensive.
